Since the first day of its creation in 1966, Scies Miniatures in Vallorbe, Switzerland, has been owned by the American company Grobet File Company of America.
Miniature Saws is proud to employ a highly qualified team of motivated employees with a combined experience of around 1,250 years in the manufacture of saw blades for jewellers.
This unique expertise in its core business guarantees the exceptional quality of the jewellers' saw blades manufactured by Miniature Saws - often copied but never equalled!
The continuous development with the manufacture of saw blades for woodworking has added a new dimension to a company with high demands for impeccable quality.




Our story
1966: Scies Miniatures is founded by the Swiss owner of Grobet File Company of America, J.-M. Robert.
1966 - 1985: The constant evolution and growing popularity of the saw blades produced by Scies Miniatures forced the company to expand its facilities.
1985: The Scies Miniatures factory moves from the suburbs of Lausanne to new premises in Vallorbe, Switzerland.
1985 - 1995: Growth continues, new innovative manufacturing processes are introduced and the Miniature Saws facilities are expanded to meet the need for state-of-the-art equipment and additional craftsmen.
1996: Production of the first prototype scroll saw blades.
2001 - 2005: Design and assembly of wood saw blade manufacturing machines and launch of the new Pégas brand.
2008: Purchase and development by our staff of a sharpening machine to manufacture tools for our wood-sawing machines.
2014: Development of precision band saw blades.
2015 : Launch of the Super Pike special jeweller's saw blade.
2016 : Launch of the exclusive and innovative mechanical scroll band saw.
2017: modernisation of wood saw blade manufacturing machines.
2021 : Launch of the first new-generation filing machine.
2023: Creation of the Pégas online shop.
2023 : Launch of the new Pégas dual-purpose band saw.
